Who We Are
United Way was founded on a simple goal: to make our communities a better place for everyone through cooperative action. For 70 years, our United Way has connected our local communities through giving, volunteerism, and advocacy.
What We Do
Across FPC, more than half our residents struggle to afford basic necessities. Many are working hard, yet still forced to make impossible choices between rent and groceries, medical care, and childcare. These households, known as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), are the backbone of our workforce, yet they remain one emergency away from crisis.
At United Way, we are committed to closing this gap by providing ready access to resource and engagement information through 211, using 211’s local data and insights to create solutions tailor-made to our community’s challenges, and stabilizing our region's workforce through wraparound services and support for employees and their households through Workforce Advocacy.
